You might have spotted over on my Instagram that I have recently been asked to become an ambassador for Botanics skincare. As Botanics is a range I have been familiar with for years I’m really excited to be part of the collaboration and trying out more products from the range especially as they have just had a huge re-brand.
Botanics have partnered up with the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew to create a plant based natural skincare range containing high quality plant extracts which are beneficial to the skin. I have included these products in my daily and weekly skincare routine so I can share my thoughts with you guys and so far I have been really impressed with the quality of the products and the results on my skin.
In the morning I start off with the refreshing toning spritz with rosewater. This has been my absolute favourite of all the botanics products I’ve tried so far, it’s so calming, refreshing and helps to wake me up in the morning. I also find myself reaching for this throughout the day to refresh my skin. Next I use the refreshing eye roll on with hibiscus which helps to brighten the skin. The roller ball is so cool when applied which helps to de-puff my eye area and makes my dark circles less visible. I then apply the all bright day cream SPF 15 with hibicus. As well as giving me protection from UV rays it keeps my skin hydrated and radiant all day long. Honestly, I’ve been so impressed with the moisturiser as I normally get dry skin around this time of the year and it’s yet to make an appearance. Once I’ve let my moisturiser dry in I apply the all bright radiance balm as a primer. It’s the perfect base for makeup and adds radiance to my skin. I’ve also been putting a small drop into my foundation to avoid it drying out my skin.
In the evening I’ve been applying the hydrating day cream with rosehip oil only because I’ve run out of night cream and with rosehip extract being rich in omegas and essential fatty acids I figure they will work well while I sleep. I’ve been waking up with my skin feeling and looking hydrated so it’s doing the trick.
Once a a week I’ve been applying the radiant youth refine microdermabrasion polish with gingko. This is great for getting rid of dead skin cells and the gingko plant helps with anti aging. My skin feels so soft and clean after using it and I’ve noticed my makeup goes on so much better.
*These products were sent to me as part of theplantone community with Botanics on Instagram but I was not required to write this review and these are my own views in this post.
There are so many products I’m loving at the moment but throughout the past few Summer months I’m finding these are the ones I have been reaching for on almost a daily basis.
First up is this gold *simple knot cuff from Stella and Dot. I was gifted this at a Stella and Dot event I was recently invited to. They had so many beautiful pieces of jewellery to showcase but this cuff was one of my favourites. The simple and classic design goes with practically everything I own. It’s the perfect piece of jewellery to finish off any outfit.
Next up is this beautiful perfume, *Mon Guerlain which I have been reaching for all Summer. I was introduced to this fragrance at St Enoch Centre’s Colour of Summer event where I met the lovely Harriet who is the business development manager for Guerlain. She was so passionate about the brand and spoke about the history behind the brand. Did you know Guerlain invented the lipstick and bronzer? Well, you do now.
This feminine fragrance inspired by Angelina Jolie is a delicate mix of jasmine, sandalwood, lavender, and vanilla. Don’t let the lavender to put you off, it blends beautifully with the rest of ingredients and smells fresh and oriental. Not only does the fragrance smell beautiful the pretty bottle is the perfect edition to my my dressing table.
Another Summer favourite of mine has been the *St Tropez gradual tan tinted body lotion. It’s so easy to apply, in fact it’s as easy as applying your daily moisturiser and gives an instant Summer glow. It’s completely streak free and leaves my skin feeling moisturised as well as giving me a natural looking tan and healthy glow. It can be build up over a few days for a darker tan.
This L’occitane Milk Concentrate has been in my box of beauty supplies for ages. I’m sure it was in a set I received as a Christmas gift and now I have tried it I can’t believe I have left it lying in a box for so long. This body moisturiser feels amazing when applied. It’s perfect for dry legs and leaves my skin feeling super soft. I’ve currently been applying this on a daily basis and my skin has never felt softer, it also smells so good. It is a little on the pricey side so once this is finished it’s probably not something I can afford to lather all over my body on daily basis but lovely as a little treat every now and again.
The revitalising beauty booster from OM skincare was something I picked up recently in the Space NK sale. I had never heard of the brand before but I’m sucker for any kind of beauty boosting product as I find my skin can look dull at times. I was also sucked in by the really pretty packing but I’m happy to report this little bottle is god send. I have been mixing in with my foundation to give me that extra glow and stop dryness, all you need is one little drop. It’s also nice worn alone to give your skin a boost.
What are your Summer favourites?
*Some items have been gifted to me.
Benefit’s original Hoola Bronzing Powder is a probably one of the first bronzers I purchased and have re-purchased over the years so I’m sure you will understand my excitement about the latest products from the Hoola range – the Hoola Quickie Contour Stick and Hoola Lite.
Contouring is not my strong point so I love how easy to use and effective the Hoola Quickie Contour Stick is. For defined cheekbones and a sculpted face apply this beneath your cheek bones, on your forehead (just beneath your hairline) and along either side of your noise. It literately took me no time at all to apply this product. It was easy to bend and the results were natural and long lasting. Trust me, if you aren’t good at contouring this is the product for you.
I love that Benefit have launched a bronzer for us paler gals. Although I love the original Hoola Bronzing Powder (which is one of Benefit’s best sellers) I am very fair skinned so I do have to be careful with how much I apply so I don’t end up looking too tantastic. I only really use bronzer in the Summer months when I have a bit more colour to my face but with Hoola Lite I will be able to use all year round. It blends in super easy and leaves my skin with a lovely natural glow and if I want to go slightly darker all I need to do is apply a little more. I can also see this product becoming a best seller.
