When it comes to shopping I love being rewarded for a being a loyal customer. It definitely encourages me to return to the retailer time and time again. So you can imagine my excitement when The Big Partnership got in touch on behalf of St Enoch and challenged me to pack for a weekend away with £100 gift card and the new St Enoch Rewards Card.

You can use the St Enoch Rewards card by downloading the app on your smart phone or by picking up a card in the centre. I find the app easier to use as you can keep upto date with latest offers, check participating retailers and to check what level you are at. The reward card offers three levels and the higher the level, the better the rewards. By registering the card you will collect one point which starts you off on the bronze level giving you access to offers such as a 10% discount in Fossil and M&Co and a free Benefit make-up lesson in Debenhams.

Each time you continue to shop in the participating retailers spending £5 or more you will collect a point each time. To move on to the silver level you will require three points. Once you reach the silver level you will have access to more offers like 5% off in Hotel Chocolate, a free sample pack of The Body Shop’s bestsellers and 15% discount in Fossil.

I’m currently sitting at the silver level and working my way towards the gold which requires 20 more points. Once the gold level is unlocked you will unlock offers such as 20% off in Fossil and £10 off a £25 spend in The Body Shop.
Some of the offers are on for a limited period of time so keeping checking the app for the most upto date offers.
I used my rewards card while shopping for essentials for a weekend away and was able to benefit from some of the offers while collecting points in some of the participating retailers Debenhams, Dorothy Perkins and The Body Shop.

When packing for a weekend away I like to pack a capsule wardrobe with basic staples that can take me from day to night. The first thing I went for was comfortable but stylish shoes as my weekend away would most likely be a city break and involve a lot of walking and sightseeing. So I picked these black flats (£20) from the Topshop concession in Debenhams. My next item, a good pair of jeans and these skinny jeans (£26) from Dorothy Perkins are perfect. They are such a nice fit and can be dressed down in the day or dressed up with a nice cami top and statement jewellery at night and I went for this Topshop leather jacket (£48) for the same reason.

I then went into The Body Shop for this facial mist (£9) as it’s one of my travel must haves for keeping my skin hydrated especially if I’m flying. While I was in The Body Shop I was able to benefit from one of the rewards on the St Enoch reward card and picked up a sample pack of their best sellers which will certainly come in handy on a weekend away.

*Thanks to St Enoch and The Big Partnership

With Jeans for Genescoming up next month I thought I would tell you a little bit about the charity and show you this years fabulous charity t-shirt.

Jeans for Genes day which takes on the 23rd September, raises money for Genetic Disorders UK. Genetic Disorders UK aims to transform the lives of children with genetic disorders and funds raised will go to the vital care and support they urgently need.

There are between 4,000 and 6,000 diagnosed genetic disorders and it is estimated that one in 25 children is affected by a genetic disorder which is more than 30,000 babies and children being diagnosed in the UK each year.

To raise money the charity is encouraging people to wear jeans on Jeans for Genes day and make a donation. You can also support the charity by wearing one of the t-shirts which has designed by Katherine Garbutt, a student at Glasgow School of Art. You can see me below wearing my t-shirt. The t-shirt is available to buy online for £20.

If you read my last post about my tour on the Caribbean Princess then I’m sure you will know why I now have cruising on my mind. And if you are regular reader of my blog, you may have noticed I love a city break which got me thinking, why not combine the two. When thinking about this type of cruise, Viking River Cruise’s with Bolsover Cruise Club came to mind as I remember seeing one of the Viking River Cruise ships on the Danube when I was in Bupdapet.

With Viking Cruises, the destination is the most important part of the trip and passengers can take advantage of late night departures and over night stays giving you more time to explore each destination. I love the sound of this as I always imagined you would have a short time at each destination but not with Viking River Cruise’s. Another thing that caught my eye when reading about Viking River Cruises, the casual dress code. This means you could go from day to night and not have to pack a suitcase full of fancy clothes packing a capsule wardrobe instead. These would would be my river cruise essentials.

At the weekend I was invited along to Silverburn Shopping Centre for a fashion consultation as part of the Your 5 event. For my consultation one of the stylists talked me through the five key items for Spring/Summer. These items were the cropped trouser, the sneaker, the shirt, the short jacket and the silks.
I found the consultation really useful and felt it saved me the time and hassle of walking round the shops to choose something as the stylist had already picked out a number of gorgeous items. It also brought certain items to my attention that I may never have choosen if I hadn’t been shown them and given some ideas on how I could wear them.
During the consultation, I registered my details with Silverburn which allowed the stylist to email me photos of my favourite items.  I thought it was a really good idea as I could take the pictures into the shop and ask the shop assistant to help me find the item, again a really good time saver.
The Your 5 team at Silverburn also introduced me to the Silverburn App which featured a list of all the stores in the centre and any promotional offers that were running at the time including money off vouchers, free gifts with purchases and competition entries.

Once my consultation was over I was given a goodie bag which included voucher.  As I didn’t have a lot of time that morning I found my consultation had been really useful as I rushed to the shops knowing exactly what I wanted to buy and even better I was able to use the Silverburn App in Warehouse to get a 20% discount.  (Search for Silvernburn Plus in the App store and you will find it).

I picked a pair of crop trousers from Marks and Spencer and a stripped linen shirt from Warehouse. Both will be key items in my Summer wardrobe which won’t date and hopefully they will see me through a few more Spring/Summers to come.

Big thanks to McFrank PR and Silverburn Shopping Centre for inviting me along I had a great morning.

Although it still feels very much like Winter, Spring / Summer is on it’s way.
Over the past two weeks, I’ve attend both the House of Fraser and Debenhams Spring / Summer press show and I can tell you what’s going to big for SS16.
First up, was the House of Fraser press show, held in Oran Mor. The key trends on show at House of Fraser were Summer brights, exotic safari, fringing and utility luxe.
At both show’s I was drawn to the bright colours and white lace, just look at that beautiful white lace Micheal Kors dress below.

At the Debenhams press show, held in the Corithian club we had more Summer brights, safari trends and occasion wear. My favourites were, the occasion wear by No 1 Jenny Packham, particularly the tutu style skirt and the embellishment top (very Carrie Bradshaw) and the gorgeous lingerie range, Nine by Savannah Miller.

Thanks to both House of Fraser and Debenhams PR team for inviting me along, I had a great time as always.
All we need now is some sunshine.
